As Proposed By The Department of Legal Record and Counsel

The Department of Legal Record and Counsel is of the opinion that certain codes must be written to protect the integrity of previous court rulings. Seeing how the legal codes are ever changing, the Ministry of Justice and the House of the Collective must pass laws to prevent “bad actors” from requesting a retrial based on new legal precedent. This statute will also ensure that it would be illegal for any government, on any scale, to punish previous offenses with modern repercussions.

A1:S1 ~ All governments are outlawed from enforcing any “Ex Post Facto” proceedings against accused, acquitted, or guilty persons.

A1:S2 ~ All persons are not allowed to use modern sentencing and punishment guidelines for previously settled cases.

A1:S3 ~ If a case is currently being deliberated in any court and new precedent is established during the course of the hearing, they may use new guidelines if granted by a simple majority in the House of the Collective.A2:S1 ~ If a case is settled breaking the three aforementioned guidelines, it will be rendered void, and be settled in the High Court of the Ministry of Justice.
